Gemsbok Project came to a sreaming halt !
« on: August 11, 2011, 11:50:15 AM »
Its just been one of those weeks where nothing seems to go right. So I got this Gemsbok I'm working on for bearhunter. Got the back of the pedestal done yesterday , I did a rock look to the back instead of my usual leather as I thought it would look pretty cool when finished out. The skull cap had to be built up and reinforced so I got that done this morning. Cape got detailed yesterday, and I just got done testfitting for the 4Th time  and I was gonna get ready to mount the bad boy up ........ till I realised I forgot to order the 38 mm eyes for it  :bash: SON OF A $!@#? !! Guess it will be on hold for another week till I get the eyes .... sorry James but here are a few pictures to tide you over  :chuckle: Got to tilt the horns back just a touch further as I compared it to the kill photos and noticed they weren't quite right.

I don't see any forehead marks on the walls, so I assume you realized that the eyes were missing BEFORE you applied glue to the hide and form.... :dunno: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I was getting to the eye setting stage when I figured it out  :chuckle: Glue is the last stage before the hide goes on.

I do have a set of elk eyes and they are the right size but the color ....... well its a bit off  :chuckle:
