My trip to ibo worlds
« on: August 13, 2011, 07:31:56 PM »
Well the first day at worlds didn't go so well. I couldn't judge yardage at all and I wasn't making very good shots. The second day I started off really good then couldn't get a 11 for my life and then I got a 5 because I flinched. So I ended up shooting 386. Not my best shooting ever. I ended up getting 15th out of 63 kids. I learned alot and I had a great time and I'll be much more prepared for next year! Thanks to everyone who helped me to get over here.

Huge congrats...the learning for next year is the important part. Now you know what you need to knock em dead next year.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

You did good Zach!
Now you know what you are up against for next year!
What was the high score on the 40 targets? I figure 10 up should be no problem for you next year! :IBCOOL:
Who won PMR and what was their 40 target score?

404 was the highest in my class. And I think Eric Griggs had like 416 or something on 40 targets and then Levi came back on Saturday and tied Eric so they had a shootoff for first and Levi won.

Hahaha! I am going to pretend there weren't any implications there! >:(

When I went to Worlds a couple years ago, I was at the practice range at the lodge the first morning.  Levi stepped up beside and without a second's hesitation says, "That's not 50 yards; it's only 49.5."  Somebody fished out a range finder, and sure enough he had nailed it.  2000 really good shooters there, and he's the  only one who caught that being off.
Bring a GPS!  It's awkward to have to eat your buddies!

Yep, his yardage is insane.. I think there are guys who shoot better then him, but no one judges yardage like him!
