I tried this while out bear hunting this weekend.  Guess what...it actually worked.     These are the skeeters the size of turkey and swarm like piranha to.  Worked on the flies and noseeums as well.  Has a little battery powered fan that make a little noise though.  Not loud and I got used to it after about 10 minutes.  Just thought I would report.

great! i was gonna use those this year seeing as its way cheaper then the thermacell to buy and use with refills and it lasts 3 times longer per refill.

Thats why I tried them also.  Figure for $9 and $5 for two refills it was worth a shot.  The refills last 12 hours and have to be used within 2 weeks of opening.  I get attacked at night while doing chores in the yard so this will work for that also.

Just to update.  I used the first refill all week while working in the garden and it worked great.  Went out to the woods today with the next refill and it worked great again.  I was hot and sweaty and the bugs really wanted a piece of me.  I could see them all around me but they could not get close.  So nice to not be covered in stinking bug spray.
