Bought a XDM .40 One hell of a pistol, I love it.
« on: August 28, 2011, 08:57:31 AM »
Went out and finally bought me a new Concealed Carry Pistol. Been going back and forth on which one to buy.  I absolutely love this pistol. Shoots real nice and the .40 cal packs more punch then my regular carry 9mm a Ruger.  Any comments form others would be appreciated. Anyone know a good holster for this, for concealment?

I have one I love it too, XDM 3.8 40. I have an Uncle Mikes and a Blackhawk holster both work well. I did find that a good belt makes a huge difference in carry also.
Smoke em when ya see em!

I carry one almost everyday. Best semi auto made! I have shot tjem all and have put thousands of rds threw mine without a single problem. I could carry any handgun out there, there is a reason I choose to carry the xdm

I picked up a XDM 45 auto a couple weeks ago. Love it. This is my first 45 auto. Been shooting 357mag. and 44mag. Shoot real tight groups. Starting to prep cases to load some Monatana Gold 230gr. bullets with Clays or Tightgroup powder. As far as holster is concerned I bought  a Blackhawk Serpa  holster and like it so far.
Nothing like a Remington model 700xcr.

The serpa holsters are nice for open carry or fall and winter months when you have a nice jacket on. I have always been a 357mag guy. Never found a auto that I trusted to replace the wheel gun. Until I picked up my xdm.

I have a XD, 4 in. Service in .40 cal I carry daily. By far the most comfortable holster for me to carry IWB is my Galco King Tuk. I have heard great things about all of the hybrids (King Tuk, Cross Breed, Montuk, etc..) There are some very nice all leather options as well,  Milt Sparks VM 2, Don Hume, etc.

For OWB I prefer the Blackhawk Serpa, I have three, one on each hunting pack and day pack, and one (paddle) for attaching to my belt  in non-hunting situations.

I suggest you invest in a really good belt. Your every day belt will not hold up to carrying. There are tons of good Instructors belts.
Only 2 defining forces sacrificed themselves for you:
The American Soldier and Jesus Christ. One died for your freedom, the other for your soul.

My rock,
He trains my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
