tmike, All of my trailcams are homemade. The camera that took these pics uses a Sony DSC-W200 12.1 megapixels. You can't buy a trailcam that takes pics like these, you have to build them.
archery288, I have had two cameras completely destroyed by bears, but not any more. I built bear-proof boxes for all of my cameras The boxes are made out of oak and they have 30 3 1/2 inch drywall screws that discourage bears from messing with my cameras. The boxes are held on the tree by a cargo strap. Once the strap is cinched down around the camera, the camera connot be moved or bothered.
This is a pic taken a few days ago. This bear was trying to get at the camers, but he lost that battle. The screws are longer than his claws.

What does it cost to put one together? I'm nervous about the bears tearing mine up. They've moved it around but haven't bitten it yet.

Cool pics, that picture with the elk , that country looks awfull familiar. Looks like a place I have been where there are alot of bears and some monster bulls. Could be wrong though.

Those are pretty cool. I like the one with the cub climbing up to check out the camera.
