I was out picking mushrooms today and stumbled across a ghost plant and I am enticed by the alien-like characteristics...

Those are called Indian pipe. Kinda an oddball plant in nature because they dont get their nutrients from the sun. They are white cause they lack chlorophyll to absorb sunlight so they actually feed off the roots of trees using fungus. I always seem to find a few of them mushroom picking every year. ALways thought about maybe digging one up and plant it by the spruce tree in my yard.

ya west side near fungus spores and what not...but I guess they are used for many remedies and will actually begin to dissolve in your hand if you pick them. I dont think that I would use them for anything however...
