Browning A-Bolt 300 rum
« on: August 17, 2011, 10:11:44 AM »
Has any one heard when the browning a bolt in a 300 rum will be avaliable? I ordered one back in feb. And it was supposed to be here by the middle of june! Still no gun. And my dealer has no idea when. So typically when they come out with a new model in jan. How long before it is on the shelf?

It seems to me they are usually at least 9 months out..... Could be wrong but I heard somewhere that they announce them, and then try like hell to have them out right before hunting season. :dunno:
My biggest fear is when I die, my wife will sell all my guns for what I said they cost me!     ;)

You do know that they did make some in an A-bolt II medallion grade some years ago.
Found one for sale from Boise gun, topped with a lupy vari x III for 1100.00 (although it might be gone by now)
I contacted my friend at Browning and the 2 models that were available in 300RUM were Shotshow specials only, had to be ordered there to be built, they built 2 configurations, an A-bolt II long range hunter with a gray laminate stock and a A-bolt II long range hunter with a composite stock in mossy oak brush.
Your dealer would of had to place an order through the Shotshow, did they do that?? If not then your SOL unless you search for someone who has one on the shelf, no current production runs for that rifle and no plans for a production run..

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

Thanks for the info. The gun shop I ordered it through did order it through the shot show. He ordered 6 of them 3 lam and 3 comp. And I knew they used to make it years ago but the only one I found was on gun broker it was new in the box and they wanted 1800 for just the gun.
