Salvage foggy scope?
« on: August 17, 2011, 08:43:27 PM »
I have an old bushnell scope that is fogged up. Is there anything that I can salvage out of it that might be useful.

No I don't think so. If it was a Leupold you could send it in and they'd fix it or send you new one. But a Bushnell? What model is it?

Maybe the rings...
If it was easy, everybody would be doing it.

When Bernie Madoff did it, it's called a "Ponzi Scheme"
When Government does it, it's called "Social Security"

I don't know how like 10-15 years? Really no clue. It is a banner 4x32. I bought a used 30-06 gamemaster 760 because it was cheap. That scope fogged up while I was hunting and I had to get a new scope from a local sports store were I was hunting. :bash: I am keeping the rings. But could I make something cool out of the lenses or somrthin

:chuckle: Sounds good. I will tell you how it works out. Maybe Cabela's will give me some kind of trade in for it.

I had a similar 4x bushnell drop a reticle on me a few years back. We contacted bushnell and they said to send it in and they would estimate a cost for fixing it. I wouldnt do it though, might as well save that money for nicer scope.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

Call Bushnell, they will repair or replace it for you free of charge.  Their waranty is great.  Last year A Bushnell scope that my Grandfather baught about 35 years ago foged up.  We sent it in and now have a brand new scope.  Some people rag on bushnel, but they have worked well for us for alot of years.
There's a reason they call it hunting, not killing.
