:chuckle: :chuckle: you guys are wearing me out on this broadhead thing  :chuckle: :chuckle:

Thankfully!  :chuckle:
Good luck to you too.

And I agree 100% with the above posts: don't skimp on broadheads.  It's the one piece of equipment you have that absolutely has to perform flawlessly.  If it's not perfectly sharp out of the package (most aren't) then sharpen it; if you can't get it sharp enough, then try another head.  That broadhead needs to be as sharp or sharper on the day you shoot it at an animal as when it came out of the package, so you've got to be able to resharpen them effectively.

I shoot the G5 Montecs. Pass through every time so far. Keep the new ones for the hunt and use your old ones for practice.

Archeryjunky you have had the broadheads fall apart?? I have to admit I have had complete pass throughs with muzzy's the only one that didnt hit a rib and broke my arrow.  The elk died 150yds from impact the it broke about 12" down from the fletchings so 2ft of the arrow entered the elk.  If you hit the heart or lungs and dont hit any ribs there is nothing that should destroy a broadhead is there?  Anyways im looking for the best quality broadhead for the money? So far it seems to be Muzzy to me.

Yes Slick Tricks have replaceable blades.  They are sharp as heck I might add.  Watch your fingers.

What about practice blades for shooting into a target? Or do ya just use the regular blades?

I shoot Slick Trick 100's.  Every year I buy a new 3 pack of blades ($10) and put them on my first three arrows in the quiver.  I use my older blades for targets then switch to the new blades before season.  I think I have 15 sets of blades and all the blades in my quiver have never entered a target.

I do what Phelps does.  Are the blades a pain to pull out.  No not at all.  They are pretty easy.  I can't explain how they work but if you looked at them for 3 seconds you'd figure it out.  As far as pulling the broadheads out of a target yes they are a pain in the rear to pull out compared to three blade broadheads.  One they penetrate really well and 2 since they have a bigger overall cutting diameter they do tear your target up a bit more than a three blade broad head does.  But I figure if it tears up a target quicker than a 3 blade then imagine what it does to elk lungs.   :yike:

muzzys are a good bh.  I just like the smaller steal same cutting diamater slick tricks i got.  If i missed my target w my muzzys and hit any debris in the yard it would shatter the aluminum shaft i didnt like it i would geuss you hit some bone shooting an elk or deer shoulder ribs spine ect i want my bh to pass through even when i hit one of these spots  :twocents:
