How to hunt on windy, rainy days?

Like to hear how you hunt them on the west side when its windy, rainy. Where do you find bears? Trees? Meadows?

:dunno: They have to eat no matter what the weather. Depends on your hunting method. I don't like the windy days....too hard to hear if you're beating the brush looking for them. Maybe some of these more experienced guys will chime in.

well its pretty simple if you ask me... I love hunting in the rain and wind because almost all big game animals will head out in open areas because they can not hear so they are depending on eye sight ...If its raining and windy during deer season I am running out the door  :yeah:

My experience is it depends on if you are hunting predator or prey. Bears aint scared of nuthin cept humans, I think the nastier it is, the deeper hell hole the bears go in, as a matter of fact I believe it for elk also. Deer may go to cuts in a storm but in the real nasty, I am hunting the deep cover closed in holes. Regular rain storms do nothing to behavior, it takes real "Nasty Nasty weather"

I've personally never had any luck bear hunting in the rain. I've shot bears just before a storm or just after a storm but I've never actually seen one in the rain. Not saying they aren't there just haven't had luck myself. I do hunt almost solely in the alpine and I don't know where you are hunting and how that might change things.

 :yeah:
I see them start heading out into the open during the breaks in between storms.  Not really even concerned with anything but food.  See them in clearcuts and meadows, even in drizzle.  But when it gets heavier they seem to head back in.  I suppose they hang out near the edge waiting for either another break or until too hungry.

I usually start off by sleeping in...
get up make some coffee, watch some football or read a hunting mag...think I need to go out and then realize I never really see any bears when its rainy, so I just stay in.
