I bought a muzzleloader last night. The guy told me that muzzleloaders were not considered firearms. I did not have to do any paperwork or anything.
Like I said in my previous post in this thread, they are not considered firearms at the federal level. But by Washington state law, they are. That's why you were able to buy one without a background check. But a felon still cannot legally be in possession of a muzzleloader in this state.

@ MrTimTurner...The paperwork, waiting period, etc is all federally controlled....not state controlled. State and Federal definition of firearms are different, as are the regulations controlling them. The regulations controlling whether or not a felon can have firearms are maintained on a state level which is where the difference comes from.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

Sure, no problem. By the way, I think it's a bunch of crap that they can take away your gun rights.

There are certain job hazards involved when you are a felon.

That's government for you. You can purchase one, you just can't posses it!
