First Cougar Pic, Is it a big one?
« on: August 20, 2011, 08:12:35 AM »
I was working up by Forks the last couple weeks. I had this trail cam for a while and I decided to put it up for the first time. I got a couple cow pics and then this cougar pic. Looks like a bigger cat to me. What do you think?

I never saw any cat tracks, and I was working in the woods really close to this spot for 2 weeks. Kinda spooky.

Looks like a female African lioness to me. Based on body and shape of the head. I do not think this photo was taken near Forks. Why the logo on the photo as well? My bet not a American Mountain Lion  :dunno:

I guess its right to question anything on the internet these days. The logo on the pic is the name of the trail camera. Google it, most if not all trail cams put their logo on the bottom of the pics.

The pic was taken roughly 15 miles from Forks. I was contract timber cruising a piece of property. Last time I checked, they dont have Salal in Africa (the brush in the foreground).

Here are a couple more pics for reference. Yes, this is a real pic, and thats me in the new pic.

And I agree with you, the cats head and body looks big. Thats why I wanted everybody's opinion...

OK True Sportsman: I think I was WRONG. It was only a guess. I believe its a American Cougar. A very  nice cat. Its the kind that Dreams are made of. I am sure a few of us would like to notch a tag over that supine feline! (Laying Cat) as long at it was D.O.A.    :yeah:

It's either a big cougar or an escapee from a zoo.  What's even more impressive is the picture of the Sasquatch in the second photo.  :chuckle:

It does seem to have a very femmy head on it, so I would also guess female. It looks like a bigger female for sure.
