Easy to assemble game cart?? Ha Ha Ha
« on: August 28, 2011, 04:01:25 PM »
Last year I bought a game cart. I foolishly thought I could assemble it in the field.
As luck would have it, I did not shoot anything, so I did not need to assemble it.
I decided to assemble it at home in the summer. Good idea! I took inventory of the parts and had to call customer service to have the missing parts sent. They shipped it out for free of charge.
I found the parts could fit a couple of different ways and even staring at the diagram did not help. The package contained little wrenches to assemble the parts. I am sure you have worked with lock nuts, these were lock nuts from H***.
I had to use a 1/2" rachett wrench with a 12" cresent wrench to tighten the nuts. Not something I would be carrying in the field unless I needed to remove the engine from the truck. After pumping up the tires, I was in business.
That beast was heavy and well built. Probably could put an entire elk on it with no worries.
Note to self. If a steep hill and carrying an elk or deer down the hill, don't do it unless you have a friend helping to keep the cart from running away :bdid:. Drag the animal down the hill and reload onto cart.
Gathering is easy. Hunting is a challenge.
