My Grandad always said "if you are unsure of the distance, always hold hair". This advise has served me well. ( I don't own a range finder)
depends on what your sighted in at and what gun with my 7mm im shooting 2 inches high at 100yds and i would hold right on and im 100% sure i would hit
My 300WSM is zeroed at 300yrds, is shooting 3000fps and my MPBR is 356yrds. So if it is a 300yrd shot, I would hold dead on. Now if I was zeroed at 100yrds and was trying to make a 300 yard shot with no scope adjustment, I would have to hold about 11.5" high. This is all according to the ballistic charts and what I've seen at the range.
This is the method of calculating bullet trajectory that I use. At the bottom of the link is trajectory for a 7mmRM.http://www.exteriorballistics.com/ebexplained/5th/33.cfm
Just curious how you would handle a 300 shot .... would you hold in the same spot on a 300 yrd shot when shooting on flat ground compared to a down hill or up hill shot....
