Well.....as first class as my little Northriver can be! Here is what I'm putting out there.

What: Fishing for humpies out in the salt
When: This Sunday, launching from the 10th St launch off Marine View Drive
What: Humpies of course
How: Trolling with down riggers
You need: Current saltwater license w/ catch card

Agenda:
I'd like to meet up and be ready to leave the dock by 7 am on Sunday. If you want to go earlier I can be ready to go earlier. We will motor out and head south to area 8-2 and 9 and begin trolling. We'll whack 'em and stack 'em for a bit. I'll have breakfast doughnuts on hand and make sandwiches with chips for lunch. Probably be done fishing by noon. I have all gear needed.

My boat is 18 feet and can bounce a little in rougher water. If you have back issues this may not be the best boat for riding. Metal boats are usually a bit harder on the back than glass. Just throwing that out there.

I'd like to keep this offer limited to active/retired/on leave. Also, I'm really looking for a single person to keep the crowding down and make the most of the experience for the individual.

About me if you need to know. Male, 34, over 500 hours logged on the salt, years of boat owership, have completed my boaters education, have all lifejackets and required safety equipment, onboard vhf, currently running a dry (booze free) boat.

Please post or pm with questions.

Lets go kill some humpies!

Thanks. Hoping to find a taker. No gas money needed, no gear needed. Just come along, whack a few, enjoy the sun. I'm a bit lucky. My boat is a gas sipper. 90 hp Yamaha with a 4 stroke kicker. I can go all day fishing and burn 10 gallons...maybe less.

If I wasn't in YTC for the next 3 weeks I'd be all over that offer.

H20-  What a very nice gesture on your part for sure....  Not sure if you know about it or not there is a program at Ft Lewis called the "Wounded Warrior Program".  Where there is a coordinator that will line up wounded soldiers to go on exactly these types of adventures.  I do not have the number but see if I can find it.  It really boast their morale and help them adjust back to a normal life enjoying things they thought they had lost due to injury.   I'll see what I can find on the number, not just for this but maybe we can get a group of boat owners together and do something as a whole--would be pretty cool for sure...  I would love to participate in a group setting but just do not have time to coordinate the event with starting a new job recently up north, the total opposite way of the bases...

Retired is fine with me. I would also be interested in helping out with a trip for those that have been injured. My only concern would that my boat may not be the best for one person but okay for the next. Last thing I would want is to take what could be a good experience and turn it into a negative. I'm not real picky about who I take out. Active, retired, on leave, gonna ship out to basic next month...really just looking to do a good turn.

wounded warrior program is a great program, If you contact them and tell them what you have available they will go through their list and find who would be good for going on the trip with you. If you need the contact info pm me and I will get it to you. And with my experience with them not alot of hunting and fishing opps for them right now. but the rally car driving was cool  :chuckle:
