Does anyone have any recommendations for processing coyote furs. I'm not looking for anything extravagant just to hang on the wall.

I suggest doing the skinning and fleshing yourself, then ship to to Moyle's for tanning. http://www.moytown.com/ They do a nice job. I suggest getting couple in on the order, to get the cost per pelt down (what with shipping and all).

I see you are in selah if you skin, flesh and traper dry it i will send it off when the fur buyer comes for you, we send of lots of furs so the price is pretty cheap. the done fall is it does take some time to get back.

well butcher i'm using the opportunity to get some practice processing hides and bleaching skulls. i'm hoping the hide turns out nice enough to hang on the wall somewhere.

bud i hate to tell you that hide isnt nice to hang any place, good shot but you have to wait tell they come into prime. you shoot a prime dog or predator and i will teach you what to do with it. SORRY FOR THE INFO...

what would you do to get all the ticks off of coyotes? i have seen stuff in cabelas that is suppose to be like tanning in a bottle, dont know how great it works but sure its good enough to hang on the wall, just make sure you get em frozen quick!

You put them on a stretcher to dry

Part of the drying process is to soak up what you can using salt. Get a 25# bag or so at Costco. Much cheaper than at the grocery store. It'll take a couple of pounds, as I recall.

Ok, so I got the hide salted and was thinking about applying some neatsfoot oil to soften the hide. What do you guys think?

if you case skinned it you can stretch it over a rounded 2x6 or 2x8 but round the end off and the corners just a smidge, really makes fleshing alot easier and it gets the skin good and tight
