rifle hunting the sinlahekin
« on: August 23, 2011, 10:22:19 PM »
I have archery hunted this unit several times before, but no luck. I know people that have taking very nice deer from there though. I am considering rifle hunting it this year but affraid it'll be a zoo. Anyone been there for rifle and had success? plus i don't want to be shot at or fighting for an area. I don't have much time and wondering if its worth my while. Wish I had private land!  :( maybe my project next year. Thanks guys!! Happy hunting!!

Without question, you will not be alone.  You can pretty much just plan on that.  There are areas to try and get away, just not a whole lot.
I'd stick with your bow.  Your quality of the hunt will be much greater if that is an important factor to you besides notching your tag.
Make your decision before Sept 1.  License and tag fees go up in price after that.

Welcome to the forum!!  :)
