Now that's hunting!  Patterning your target. Being smart about when not to take a shot. Being smart to change things up a bit, because 'you' (we) often develope our own patterns. Sounds like a good humane kill for a great first trophy with a bow.

Thank you for the great write-up! Congratulations! You earned that rug, one you can be proud of for years to come. Some hunts are like that.

no way of getting to a freezer u better put it on ice! also I have sunk many bear hides in creeks and they are all fine..better than tossing it
