A reminder to 2nd deer tag holders
« on: August 24, 2011, 04:11:40 PM »
Buy your license/tag before Sept 1st. It goes from $24 to $66. In WDFW's infinite wisdom they didn't post the new cost for 2nd deer. Perhaps trying to slip it by. Had to get on the horn with them.

What the Heck is that crap all about. Thanks for the heads up. I don't want to give Governor Gargoyle any more money than I have to. :bash:
Politicians like Jay Inslee are the reason we have the 2nd Amendment

So it did go up? Figures. Funny how they didn't include it in their list of license fees that were to change as of September 1st.   :bash:

First they slip in antlerless only on our island second deer tags, now they want $66 for a deer that will provide 20-30 pounds of meat?  Absolutely assinine!

I hunt for the meat, yeah antlers are cool too, but for $2 to $3 a pound and less time butchering, and not having to have more freezer space, cow burger and turkey polish sausage are looking pretty good.

Thanks for the reminder.

Thanks for the heads up got one for Gmu 204 and don't want to spend an extra leg just to get a doe! About ready to quit hunting this state and hunt in a good state every other year probably cost about the same and have better odds of getting an animal :o

I can tell you this- I will not be applying for a 2nd deer tag hunt next year, and I probably won't be the only one not willing to spend that kind of money to shoot a doe. Oh, well, maybe they'll do away with the 2nd deer tags. I don't agree with it anyway. I don't think we have enough excess deer for people to be killing two a year.

Big Yup there. Glad I drew it now. Can take my app fee and overpriced milkbag tag and apply it towards OR elk next time. It's almost as if they gave me a pat on the butt and pushed me across the border. Should thank them!

did you also notice that special apps for the quality hunts are going up to $13.20 versus $6.00 for a regular hunt.

Quality special apps are going up to 13.20?!! CRAZY! Why spend that much for no chance at drawing. Hunting is sure becoming a rich mans sport and not a working mans sport.

Actually I don't mind the increase for quality permit applications. I'm thinking it might improve odds slightly.
