I am sure we all have " I sure wish I would have bought/not sold that "stories. Lets here em. I passed on a win. model 70 featherwieght in.257 roberts about 15 years ago and have always wished I hadnt, also passed on a ruger mkII with a 10" bull barrel for 189$ about 2 years ago. and then they quit makeing them about 3 months later and the prices have sky rocketed. I also built a 10/22 and gave it away to a guy who let it go. JB

I sold my Remington 870 that was full choke only and chambered 3 inches only to buy a Browning Gold so that I could waterfolw better with steel shot etc.  That was the smoothest action I have ever had in a gun and really wish I would have just put the rest on credit card and kept the Remmington.  I probably will never sell another gun.


Basically it was a present from my Mom and Dad, mostly as I was always using my Dads and that way we could do it together.  They had some deal to never buy us kids guns.  Don't know about that, but it was special that the rule got broke for me.  I AM STILL SICK over it.

I sold a Browning A Bolt .270 with a leopold scope (that I added) and hard case when I was like 19 that I had got from my dad for a christmas gift...I was low on cash and didnt get half of what it was worth.

Never fired a shot at an animal with it....

I sold a 700bdl in 30-06 that was topped with a fixed 6x Leupold.  The scope I purchased and the gun a was a gift from my Dad.  Have never sold another gun since, and truly tears me apart every time I think about it.  You know, old story, couldn't afford rent in school and to damn dumb to ask for help.  Got about half what it was worth.  Wish I knew how to find that gun.

my first car was a 1984 audi 4000si deisel. it was a junker that needed a little work but the darned thing got like 55mpg. with having to take out a loan for a tank of gas these days i wish i wouldnt have let my dad get rid of it.

told this before when I was 16 summer of 79 worked all summer to buy my own gun Remington came out that year with a renamed 280 the 7mm express ordered 1 and when it came in put a 2x7 red. widefield on it. Well 5 years later more important things came up YEAH RIGHT well sold it. Now I am collecting every model and variation Remington made. I have a guy at cabelas that checks there inventory each week for me because they have a lot of guns that me or you can't see on-line like most of you the only place 98% of my guns will be going is to my 2 sons

Cherried out a 68 mustang in 1999 ,finally had it all done and was enjoying it. Then the neighbor wanted to sell me his property at a killer deal, so the mustand sold for a down payment. I miss that car.

Never had regrets selling a gun because I was always upgrading to something better.

No regrets on selling guns nor most stuff, reason for years I had the nick name of Monty Hall, Let's make a deal.....   but sold a 75 CJ-5 that I built for three years while in England, imagine how hard it was to get parts there.  Anyhow, almost had it done, had a 327 Chevy motor from a wrecked older GI's Camero (buddy was a kick ass mechanic, not me), dana 44s with taller gearing, Detroit's both back and front.  Beefed up drive train, 4" lift with 35" Mickey Thompson's, 8000lbs winch and a unpainted primer body that was Rhino lined (similar type material) in the inside.  Sold it to a British guy that had a fascination with American cars , well for a butt load of money, way over what I had invested, but still miss that Jeep for sure... One day, I'd like to do it all overgain...

I sold a Sako finfire that I bought the first year they came out. A buddy bought it and I offer to buy it back everytime he pulls it out, no luck. 

 A colt combat elite in .45, its pretty collectible now. A Volquartsen Ruger MK2, which I sold and did replace later on, so thats ok.

 Since there are some cars listed, my 1st truck was a 63 GMC factory 4x4 that I restored, like a teenage *censored* I was going to go thru it bolt by bolt, tore it apart and needed cash and sold it piece by piece 

That ones not easy to replace.

Hell if we're gonna list cars, I have a couple of regrets there.  My second car when in High school was a 68 Buick Gran Sport, 400ci with 4 speed, factory tach on the floor.  Balanced and blueprinted motor, midnight blue with white tuck and roll leather interior.  Sold it for $2000 to buy a 70 chevelle super sport with 454 and 4 speed with 4:11 rears, car had 36,000 original miles on it when I bought as a high cchool senior.  Not as quick as the Buick, but the ladies loved it.  Sold it in 86 for $3500 to buy a brand new Toyota 4x4 pick up.  I could retire on that car right now, and the Buick as clean as it was, saw one on Barret Jackson auction go for $135,000 recently

Bought my boy,s a Rossi three way rifle .243, .22lr, and 20g. interchangeable barrels.  Both have turned gun shy since. They cant take the noise even with earplugs.  Maybe Ill pass it on to there kids.

When gramps died in 85 he left me 5 grand. I took 3000 and bought a beautifull 69 Mach 1 Mustang. Then I joined the army in 86 and sold it for $3000. Not a day goes by that I don't think of that car. I wish I had stored it and bought a beater. Oh' well, live and learn. 

Never sold a gun before. I'm too much of a gun packrat for that.

Three things come to mind....
1) My brother won a 300 wim mag at an elk foundation banquet. When he got home he offered to sell it to me for $250 cause he wanted the cash. Well, I really didn't have the extra money at the time so I passed. The next day I decided I'd go ahead and do it. When he got home from work I called him and he'd already sold it to a guy he worked with.
 
2) When my oldest son turned 16 I gave him my 69 Chev pich up. It had a V-8 350 and was clean, straight and had low miles and was a GREAT truck (all stock). I had just bought an 86 Ford Diesel 4x4 which I was glad to have at the time. My son then traded the PU for a Toyota Subra? Anyway, he thought it was a cool car but it was a piece of faded silver $hit, high miles and all kinds of problems. Would still like to have that 69 back inspite of the high gas prices.

3) Sold my red 68 Mustang to a cousin of mine who restored it and it looks great~! I could tell some stories involving that car from when I was in high school. (But I won't)

In my younger days always hunted over my setters with a Remington 11-48 28 gauge bored skeet.  The 11-48 was built from 1948, hence the name, to 1968.  Although the killable range was out to about 25 yds or so, very rarely missed a bird.  One year in college hunting the Palouse area kept track of one box of shells....25 shells 24 birds (pheasants, quail, huns).  Even used it over decoys on waterfowl.....deadly with birds dropping in at 15-25 yds.

Parted with it in the 80's.  Bothered me so much that I recently replaced it....in fact twice.  Purchased one for me and my son....a matched pair and both mint and both made the last year of production.  Great upland gun behind dogs, especially quail.  They weigh 6 lbs. 0 ozs each. Box of 28 ga. shells weigh about the same as 1/3 of a box of 12 guage shells.  Can go all day without feeling like you carrying much weight.

Also when I was in the Air Force I absolutely fell in love with a little Charles Daly Miroku (Japanese made....they now make Brownings) over and under in 28 gauge bored skeet and skeet, but alas it was $345 in 1966/67.  That was like a couple months rent for airman's pay.  With a wife and one kid...well didn't happen.  Beautiful gun, as good if not nicer than the Belgium made Browning Super Imposed.  Well bought myself one of those a couple years ago, mint condition, weighs in a 6 lbs. 0 ozs. also.

As you can see I'm partial to 28 gauges. 

The only thing nice about getting older is you have more disposable income...lol.   Now I'm content.

I sold my Howa varmiter supreme in 22-250 stainless with the laminated stock when I was low on money. That had to of been one of the dumest things I have done. Now all they make is one with a thumbhole stock . I miss the gun

the one and only time I ever left a gun in my truck over night it got stolen it was an 870 express that I bought myself when I was 12 with money I had earned working that summer on the farm, I wish I had never left it in the truck.

  I own a '72 nova (not an SS, though) and I'm currently helping my father build his '70.

I regret selling my XD-40.
I really wanted one for the longest time (when they first came out). I finally broke down and bought one...then lost interest after about 500rounds as I came to more accurate pistols.
Now, it would love to have it back as a backpacking pistol...

I also sold my 870 that was converted into an "HD shotgun" with collapsible pistol grip stock, short barrel, mag extension, etc. I sold it because I didn't have much use for it....sure was fun, though.

Shot a Mark V .300 WBY with syn stock and stainless bbl, topped with a VariXII 3x9 Leupold for years. Then bought a Sako TRGS chambered in Lazzeroni Warbird 7.82. My hunting partner had wanted my Weatherby from the first time he laid eys on it. It was without a doubt, the most accurate rifle that I had ever owned in my 52 years. Well, I traded my hunting buddy that Weatherby for three rifles that he had and didn't shoot much. I REGRET IT TO THIS DAY!!! My Sako shoots great, but I get "traders envy" every time we are out hunting together.

I have a beautiful Mark V .270 with the cherry stock and gloss finish, given to me by my g-pa.  I had some clown try telling me this weekend that the savage shoots just as well, and guns don't make any difference, it's all the shooter.

(While I don't necessarily DISAGREE with him, I would say if you take two equal skilled people, the Weatherby is NIGHT and DAY different in accuracy.  It is the most amazing gun I've ever shot)

My Brother traded a model 12 16ga that our Grandfather carried in his car for 30+ years as a police officer. My Bro got a S&W .22 pistol for it, and we both are heart broke over it now. He was young and did not understand the sentimental value of Grandpa's service shotgun. Grandpa has been gone now for 5 years. Very sad to think about that old gun!

Sold my 1970 Boss 302 Mustang, because I needed the money.  That car is now worth about 80 grand.

I bought an 870 Wingmaster trap gun with Exhibition grade wood on it.  3 months later, sold it to some guy at the trap club, because I was getting out of trap shooting.  Man, wish I had that one back, it was a beautiful piece of work, and shot exceptionally.
