Today I went into a new area to check some cameras I had put out last week.
My first camera I had one good 5 point coming into so I was excited to see lots of daylight pictures of him.
There was nothing exciting at my second camera.
The third camera I checked- the first picture was of me pouring my secret sauce out and the next picture was of a cougar walking by about an hour later (kinda wished I had my pistol with me then) A few pictures later there was a nice bull moose.. The next day there was a 6 point bull

The last couple pictures were of a sow and cubs (about 15 mins before I got there) once again I kinda wished I had my .45 with me just in case.
I got done checking that camera and was driving down the mountain on my 4wheeler, I came around the corner and 15 yards in front of me were two cougars standing in the road. They glared at me for a second and slowly walked off into the brush. I couldn't believe my eyes!
The cougars were right in the area I wanted to explore and put a new camera in, but because they were so close I decided to drive my quad up through the clear cut rather then hike it (I hate cats!). I drove my 4wheeler over stumps and sticks making all kinds of noise, found a nice bench I liked, parked there and started exploring around.
About 100 yards from the quad I found a nice little opening I decided I wanted to put a camera in so I hiked back to the 4wheeler to grab a camera.
As I was unloading my pack something jumped up in the brush less then 10 yards from me. It scared the crap out of me at first but I could tell it was running away from me so I ran to my right to get to get a better angle so I could see the hillside it was moving up.
I finely got a glimpse of it, and it was GIANT Whitetail! Definitely the biggest one I have seen all summer.
Today was probably my most eventful day so far this year.
I set a camera up right where he was bedded and hopefully I will have pictures of him soon.
Here are a couple pictures from the trail cameras..
