Nah things will be okay. You'll just have to change tactics a little bit. If its that hot they wont be doing as much vocal rut activity because of the heat and they wont stay out feeding as much and do more of it at night when its cool. But... They wont be as mobile and wont move as much meaning if you find elk somewhere chances are they are gonna stay there. Also since they wont be talking as much nor as mobile people wont see as many animals as they are used to so they'll give up quicker meaning if you are persistant you'll have less compitition. If you find those deep north facing slopes that are nice and cool and a water source nearby it will be a goldmine.
