Sweet setup. You won't be disappointed. Working up a load is a must in my opinion.

Sweet rifle.  I think a Barnes bullet would be in order for a speed demon like that.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

Outstanding caliber, Roy Weatherby's personal favorite. Will kill deer reliably at short or long range, we have killed two moose with the 257, and today we killed another bear with a 257 WTBY.

If you are going to imp it, you may as well go Roy. One pas through the sizer and 7mm REM brass is 257roy. Only diff is, you will have 60 gr capacity in an imp, and 75 in a roy

I've owned two, They will definitely flatten deer, along with anything else that gets in their way! You won't be disappointed with the gun, and if you reload, they're not so expensive...... Compared to my 300 RUM at least  :o
My biggest fear is when I die, my wife will sell all my guns for what I said they cost me!     ;)

I was able to pick up 4 boxes of the Federal Premium 115gr. Trophy Bonded Bear Claw for $25 per box.  I grabbed 4 boxes at that price.  Hopefully those will be a good deer round.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

I have always shot weatherby.  I have been shooting my 257 weatherby mag Mark V ultralight for a couple years now.  I mostly shoot accubonds out of it.  I just call it my laser gun.  Sight it in right, all you have to do is point. You will never be disappointed.  Makes me sad cause now my 300 wby mag Deluxe just sits in the safe :(

Had one, inherited, only reason i don't now is a closer relative to the deceased asked to have it.  Nothing in the lower 48 I would not be confident shooting with a 100+gr partition-type bullet.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

I love my mark v, only thing i dont like about it is the weight. Best loads i have found so far are with 100gr nosler ballistic tips (about .75 moa) and bergers (.25moa) i wouldnt recomend either of those bullets for close range shots though.
