Scotch Creek Wildlife Area Permit
« on: August 29, 2011, 05:14:59 PM »
Well,  I did something rather stupid-on the advice of a friend I put in for the muzzleloader hunt on the Charles and Mary Eder unit - he promised me that he would be more than helpful if I drew out and that he knew the area well.  Turns out I drew out and he's going out of town for 2 weeks just prior to and during the hunt.  I'm usually smarter than to put in for or hunt an area  on the advice of someone else, but, what the heck, it's done now and I'll go give it a try.  Just thought I'd "fish" for any advice someone out there may wish to share.  I know the routine, obviously I'm not asking for anyones "honey hole" or anything like that-I've honestly just never been there and thought someone might be willing to share a little general info on the area.  Distance is going to preclude much prescouting and, in all probability, I'll be hunting alone.
I'm a very experienced deer hunter and have plenty of equipment, just the general area I'm wondering about.  Thanks in advance for any advice you might be willing to share.

You park and walk in. No driving whatsoever from what I've seen. I checked it out last year and you walk or whatever they allow. Hills and sage brush from what I saw, which means muley bucks, and probably BIG muley bucks.
I couldn't care less about what anybody says..............

I archery hunted two years ago. It was actually pretty fun and saw a hell of a lot of deer. PM me.
