Muley and Bear
«
on:
August 30, 2011, 08:43:22 AM »
Caught this Muley who obviously isn't to fond of cameras.
Not sure how big this bear is, never got a shot of his head.
This yote came down to a winter road kill last spring that was on our place after the snow melt.
A bear ended up finishing it off after the yote drug it out of camera view.

I noticed that too. All the hair is missing. Not sure what causes that. Maybe that bear had him by the tail.

yea, we've been trying to get him since last fall. He'll come to the calls, but hang up just the otherside of the ridge and spot us or wind us everytime.
I took a couple 600 yard running shots at him with the .308, but just kicked up the dust behind him.

Do you have barbwire fences around that area? If you do I know a trick that will get a shy yote in

No it's state land, wide open but plenty of canyons.

Dang
Are you using e callers or mouth calls? A e caller will give you a advantage of being away from the sound. I prefere them for that reason, if you use mouth calls try to get another hunter to challenge you with a howler, and you challenge back. A dominate yote will come in hot and mad ready for a fight.

using mouth calls, we'll try that next time we are up there. That black bear is up in the same drainage, maybe i'll get lucky.
