$66 for 2nd deer tag as of Sept 1st, they gave us that in a handout at the WDFW meetings.

My problem with the $66 is that it is more than the cost for the first deer tag.  We'll see tomorrow, but I highly doubt it.  Especially cause all second deer is now Antlerless only.

Thank you... as I stated in the thread I started earlier, the increase will result in a $66.00 tag (not including dealer fees). I called WDFW, and also saw the dealer fee list today that is given to them by WDFW. That's about a $75.00 doe when you figure dealer fee and application fee. Better be looking for the biggest damn doe you can find!

If I could bet you my second doe tag that it won't be $66 dollars or higher tomorrow for the second deer permit I would.  Not sure what I'd win from your side, but I'd put the tag on it!

Just attempted to get mine. It is now 66.00 + dealer fees. I guess it is my fault as I did not realize there was going to be an increase. However, for 66.00 I passed and wont use the tag. Idaho continues to look better every year.

I finally bought my bear/cougar tags last night, just before the price increase. It was $24 plus a $3 fee. Does anyone know what it would be now, for just the bear/cougar, if you already had purchased deer/elk?

Sure as sh*t, right now you go on there and it is listed at $66.  I wont be applying for second deer permits anymore.

You should have a lot less competition next year.  Who in their right mind is going to pay $68.50 to shoot a blacktail island doe.  (Not to mention the $6.50 special permit application).  Basically it comes down to a little more than $75 and a royal pain in the arse to shoot a blacktail doe.

I can maybe see it for a muley doe...thats a maybe.

Question:  How do they justify your first deer being $42.90 and the second being $66.  The new prices for bear are $22... and the price for the second is $22.  Are they dumb or do they think we are?

I'm sure somewhere there's a link posted somewhere, but could somebody please post it back up. ( New prices on WDFW licenses after 9/1/11). Thanks.

Go here, scroll down under the information section and hit "License Fees" and click the particular category of fee you are looking for (Big Game, Fishing, Small Game, etc) and it is all listed.  That is before the online dealer fees and such.

Looks to me like the 2nd tag hunts are pretty much reserved for the kids now. If you're under 16 (considered a youth) then the tag is only $22. At least the kids will have a better chance of drawing them, and $22 is a fair price. I hope it stays that way for a while, I've got about five more years till my oldest daughter will be old enough to hunt.
