Unconfirmed sighting Newman/Hauser area this AM
« on: August 31, 2011, 08:48:49 PM »
My son was in the area this AM, said there was a lot of police activity near the stateline.  A trucker said they were keeping tabs on a fairly large pack of wolves.  Has anybody heard about this?

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Sorry.  Newman and Hauser lakes are just east of Spokane.  There have been sightings of lone wolves in the area, but never a pack.

From a 2009 newspaper column

just learned today, that a breeding pair of Wolves was frequently seen in Hidden Valley, which lies north of Hwy 53 and south of Hauser lake, last winter.

I drive by there everyday......I pulled over for the sheriff to go by about 7:45 yesterday morning.

The Elk herd that ranges the stateline area has really grown the last couple of years. It would not suprise me to see a wolf in that area.
