My question is if you guys was told go for it shoot as many deer as you want how many would you kill just one or two or more?
:hello:  I would.  But it wouldn't last for long because most people I know would shoot even more, and they shoot does and immature bucks.

I am a Natural Resource Officer for the Colville tribe and I could help with some of the questions about our laws.  First if you have proof that deer are being harvested and being sold at orchards you can let me know I can pass it on and pursue it. But I need proof not just second hand knowledge, or just heresay. It is illegal for a tribal member to sell any edible part of any animal.  But non-edible parts can be sold such as claws, skulls or hides.

Thats the problem, when they get refered to other tribal members, it gets swept under the carpet!

Our offices don't sweep it under the rug, if there is factual evidence then it gets taken care of. If there is not enough what else is supposed to be done about it, if it goes to court and gets thrown out becaus enot enough evidence you loose your credibility. I was just told about some poachers tonight, while at a football game. Community members always come up and tell me the latest gossip about people and then it is looked in to. How do you know that they are swept under the rug? Of course I can only talk about the Colville tribe.

Again, I'd like to know what this means.  IF there is a "crime" what is the time?
We must reject the idea that every time a law's broken, society is guilty rather than the lawbreaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions.

I will get my bond book and look it up on the rez it is just an infraction. On the norht half it is criminal. I do believe it is a $1000 fine we take guns, knives and vehicles. If the stuff is put up as bond it is given back. If it is taken as evidence it is lodt forever.

Hey Yak that was my truck and it was in montana!  They state of montana allows you up to 7 doe's a piece.  There were 3 of us.  I would appreciate it if you would not compare that to some guys driving around shooting deer on the winter range trying to survive (super hunters) because there is a big difference.  Those deer in my truck were taken legally with a tag that was bought and paid for.  They were also skinned deboned and put in coolers not hanging out of the truck for the world to see!

Sorry if you took it wrong I msg your bro I thought it was his truck and I also stated latter that they were taken legal and they were not Tribal kills. But I do know how you feel because you or your bro I don't remember made some comments that could have affected me financially and the comments were not close to been true. Your truck was just used for and example that just because you see something don't be assuming. I didn't say they were Indian kills or that they were out of season or their was anything illegal about it. sorry if you felt I was calling you out that their was anything wrong with your pic.

if i had the same hunting rights as natives i would without a doubt keep a generous amount of meat in the freezer, i cant get mad at somebody for doing something that they are allowed to do. a native can wake up in his house to coffee that was set to brew at the same time his alarm went off, warm up the truck and grab his rifle and swarovski optics then head off to their ancestors hunting grounds 100 miles away. it will take about an hour and a half to get there maybe 2 if they stop for gas and a mcgriddle, charge the cell phone on the way and crank the tunes, holding on to that native way of life right? natives should never be told how to manage game on the reservations but it is total BS to let them have free reign to go pop a big bull in the collockum and sell the horns when i have to pay up just to put my name in a hat and then get a not selected post card year after year. to give them more rights then i have because my ancestors did their anscestors dirty doesn't make any cense to me. i cant go pick up arrowheads in vantage and sell them but they can make profit from the elk herd that i have to pay to hunt for two weeks out of the year with everyone else in the state willing to pay up for a true spike. american history is violent and cruel but i guess i just dont feel like i owe you anything. if we can have a black president, women and yes even natives can vote and in this day and age all people are supposed to be equal then why does "i was here first" give you more rights than me. god bless america?

Sounds like you should be mad at the state for their regulations, it sounds like you have a problem with them. Why dont we start a thread on how unfair the state is instead of attacking a group that has something that you want. Start a constructive thread that can come up with ideas to show your law makers to get it changed for the better.

Nice thought there Inchtown, but the reality is, until the tribes and or Federal Government are willing to tear up the treaties, and then be on equal footing with everyone else, and not have special rights, then nothing will or can be done to change it for the better.. .absolutely nothing.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.
