You can get pretty liberal when you have a small population of hunters to manage.  Small number of people means less habitat loss, and more opportunity fo the few who do hunt.  Pretty much the same reason you can kill 10-20 times as many big game animals in Wyoming, as you can in Washington.
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

There are at least two John Doe (s) in the Yakima valley.  Not sure what race they are.

This is part of what I think hunting will be in the future. WDFW is very tight about limits of Big Game with General Season. It's not going to change. They are a "Wildlife" Agency not a "Game" Agency. It also seems there are a lot of "drivers" (guys with guns in their car and hope in their heart) that never get an animal and then those who know where and how to punch a tag. If you look outside of Washington there are a great number of incredible hunting opportunities. If you look at it as a business, one owner does not want your business, the owner of another business (actually has a Game Department) & wants your business. Why do we keep wanting to shop exclusively at the business that is closer & mismanaged for our needs? Have we complained to management or Headquarters that we are being mistreated? The majority of us don't. Our time and treasure is to important to share. We refuse to give one dime to work for a better business, or work for change in management but we will drop hundreds or even thousands at the mismanaged shop and wonder why they keep off course? Then we whine about the special interests that get better deals than the general shopper, (who refuses to invest.) You should ask, do they invest? Do they work for a better deal for themselves? Answer, you bet they do.

Tags and a license is not investment any more than buying a car makes you a shareholder. (And then with a car you actually get something.) A Licence and Tags means you are legal to drive.

It's just something to think about. (Don't hate the player hate the Game.)

They are not all poachers. I can understand the argument that it is wrong that when they do take game out of their season there is often little punishment. But to call them all poachers isn't helpful. There are Tribal people on this site that are against many of the same things we are. It is not helpful to disrespect ALL of them. We need the good Tribal members to make things better.

As for animals in the 6 months i have been here I can say i have only seen about 4 deer out there. But I am not out really looking for them.

Thats because you live on the wrong side of the hill, your side has way to many predators. Since I started working for the Natural Resource Enforcement I have noticed that there are a ton of coyotes and a ton of bear from Keller over. In Inchelium our predators are managed more and we actually get to see some deer.

Your silly!!! We are pretty much our own government here, think of it like a state in a state. To me it is like being mad at idaho for having a wolf hunting season when we dont.

If you start getting a wolf population do you know it the tribe will hunt them like in Idaho?
