Bear hunting in the wind
« on: September 25, 2011, 11:40:58 AM »
How much are bears affected by windy conditions? I know deer and elk don't like to move around much on windy days. I'm not sure about bears. I don't have as much experience with them. I'm planning on going out tomorrow morning and it's supposed to be raining and winds are forcast at 10 to 20 mph. Will they still be moving and feeding? They should be gorging and fattening up for winter.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

They will be still doing thier thing. The only hinderence for you will be visibility. The cloud cover could sock in and the wind will prevent you from finding them by the brush moving by them versus the wind. Still, your odds of success will be vastly greater by going then not.
