Sherman youth Mulie doe help
« on: September 05, 2011, 03:26:40 PM »
Hey guys,

Don't like to ask for help here, but I just spent a few days up in the Sherman doing some scouting to get to know the area before my 8 y/o gets to hunt her first year. She drew the Sherman antlerless tag.  Since she can already shoot a whitetail doe, I was hoping to get her into some mulies since that is more or less something she won't be able to do often.  I scouted up Deadman creek and in Refrigerator canyon area, staying within a reasonable distance of the rig for a 8 y/o to travel.  Saw only 1 small mulie doe the whole time.  Thanks in advance for any pointers you can give.

its always good to see youngsters out in the woods. you mite try nancy creek road and matsen creek road. and off of hwy 20 is nat for dev rd 124 and trout lake rd. try higher elevation for mulies.
