Trying to recruit hunters.
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:21:32 PM »
Hello guys,

I am trying to recruit my roommates to become possible future hunting partners.  I would like to get them out to do some camping sometime this month, and listen to the elk doing their thing during the rut.  It is something we have talked about for years and just haven't done it.

I am thinking of taking them over towards Teanaway, and have been looking at google earth for a good place to go.  I have been hunting in Idaho with family for many years, and don't have a clue about the outdoors here in Washington.  But I would like to start getting out and learning.  I in no way want to interfere with hunters doing their thing during the season, and looking at the regs it appears there is a spike hunt going on from 9/6 to 9/18?  We are looking at going out the weekend of the 24th, so it appears we won't step on any toes.

I just want them to experience elk during the rut in hopes they get the same blood pumping I do

If you all would be willing to share some pointers that would get me on the right track it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance....

Sorry guys....Just trying to get out and camp with the guys....I'll keep looking.

Good luck this year, whenever you get out.  Me, I have to wait until the end of October.  It's hard
