Rock Island, WA??
« on: September 06, 2011, 12:26:26 PM »
Are there any areas that hold upland birds or grouse over near Rock Island??

I will be over there for work in November and figured I'd try and tie in a little hunting

there are some good areas around there for quail. Knock on some doors and I am sure you can find some birds. They are thick over here.

Drive up Hwy 2 to Waterville and find some Huns.

In stead of driving up to Waterville check out Rock Island Grade just east of Rock Isaland on HWY 28

as said knock on some doors for quail, i think it will be a good quail year around the valley from the number of hatchlings i saw this summer.  you can also head up birch mountain and chase some chukar or make a run up the swakane for some difficult to hunt planter pheasants.
