Walleye on Roosevelt
« on: September 06, 2011, 09:06:17 PM »
Took my son in law out fishing today to introduce him to Walleye fishing.  He has never caught a fish before let alone a Walleye.  Needless to say he is hooked and now I can't keep him out of my boat.  We were 3 short of two limits today.  Weather was great and we about had the lake to ourselves.  John

I have always wanted to catch a walleye, but there are no lakes around me that have them that I know about. Nice fish.

One day when you are not busy, drive to Moses Lake. Find some where to access the bank of the lake and throw a nightcrawler with a chartruse corky with a sinker heavy enough to cast out about 12-18'' above the hook and you will catch a Walleye. It is really just about that simple!

Nice! I love walleye, I can't wait to get back over there.

She goes out with me quite a bit Keith, but evertime I take her, she out fishes me too. :dunno:  I figured I had a chance taking her husband who has never fished for walleye before, but obviously I was wrong. LOL.  Oh well it's fun to take them out and nice to see them catching fish.

Sweet! I LOVE  ol spooky eyes! They are my favorite eating fish by far! All the ones I've caught fight like a wet sock but they sure taste excellent! A buddy from work just headed east this weekend - I think to Banks and Roosevelt and he is going to fish for walleyes for the 1st time ever - so I set him with a bunch of my gear and took him to 3 rivers and loaded him with tackle! After I the gear I sent him over there with I sure hope he gets something! I guess I should have just given him some lead, a yella corkie and some worms!  :chuckle:

How/what were you fishing with for them WC? Jiggin, trolling, drop shottin??
I aint superstitious - cuz its bad luck!
