$200 for socks?
« on: September 08, 2011, 07:41:08 AM »
I thought I'd pass this along.....
The Smartwool over the calf heavyweight hunting socks are by far the best socks ever!
Sooo cushy...and soft! And durable
I've worn them for the last several years...some were starting to get a little thin in the heels.
They are ridiculously expensive though!
I decided that I needed some new ones for this year, and they'll probably last me a few years....
Searching the internet I found a great sale and just ordered up 10 pairs!  :dunno:

Anyway phenomenal sock...If you've never been excited about a sock, you never had a pair of these on!
Hmm....Maybe I should start looking for a woman.......

I just get Costco's merino wool socks, $12 for 4 pair. They're probably not as good as the ones you're talking about but they work well for me. And you can't beat $3 a pair.

I like the Cabela's Ultimax medium weight socks.  They are around $10-12 if I remember correctly.  I also like their liners.

Bass Pro Shops has a lifetime guarantee wool sock.  I bought 4 pair last year.  Absolutely love em.  9.95 a pair.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

I areally like the  Smartwool socks, but have bad luck getting them to last very long.  Seems like the back of the heal always blows out.  I got some Lorpin merino socks in a two pack off Camofire the other day for around $8.50 per package.  So far, my only complaint is that I only bought 3 packs.

Smartwool  . One sock NOT to buy though is the underarmour socks, they are horrible. This coming from a guy who is head to toe well ankle actually in underarmour.

Anything synthetic makes my feet sweat more and stink.  Wool blended products only for me.

Camofire has another model of Lorpen wool socks on there right now for $6 something per pair.  Normal price is over $16.

My favorite too, plus the liners, have lots of both...
