Fantastic hunt! I don't think I have ever read a more impressive hunt story (including magazines) that involved such a long solo hike in during hot weather (I was hunting elk in that weather) and a kill at that distance with a longbow (or was it a recurve?)
What type of bow are you shooting (Brand, length, pounds..) I shoot a longbow, but my longest kill was around 30 yards. Awsome shooting man!
Thanks for the story and the crappy pictures.

70 pounds at 32 inches. I think the length is 66, at least that rings a bell in my mind. Its a Sapphire Hawk, made by hornseeker on here. I NEED to get some close up photos of it on here.

That's was a better read then any magazine I've ever purchased, and pics to boot, and for free. Thanks, nice story and buck! Love how you broke it up with everybodys comments in-between. I purchased a Eberlestock pack this year for the first time, the gunslinger II in rock viel, not quite the freight pack you got but love the scabbard for my gun, came in handy for climbing up this year for my first high buck hunt.

Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.

...Co... you giving Bone two thumbs up?

I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Nice Story and Pics Bone! I hate turning on the camera and have the deer look right at you. Happens everytime I turn the video camera on.
I'm going to start calling you Tred Barta! That was definately doing it the hard way...I guess you could say doing it the "Bone" way! Congratulations on a Beautiful animal!
