Nice cat.  So was it the same cat you shot at the first time that you weren't sure about or is there a cat out there that may be wounded?

I spent the better part of an hour trying to convince myself there was another dead cat out there, but couldn't find a drop of blood...luckily.  There was a third hole that pierced the hide on one of the front shoulders, but I couldn't tell if it was from my bullet or if it was a fresh wound.  If it was anything other than a predator, there would have been no second shot.  Not to say that I throw ethics out the window when dealing with predators, but the thought process is definitely a little different.

Sorry I forgot to specify, this was taken on a reservation with a tribal tag.  The last cougar I harvested was pretty tasty.  I'm looking forward to this one too.

Rght on! Cougars are easily the most exciting animal to see in the woods for me. Hopefully, someday, I will get a shot at one. He looks like he is going to be tasty. Congrats.

Glad to hear that you checked for the other animal, thanks for responding.  Good job and it is a great looking cat.
