How many hunting rifles do you have?
« on: September 11, 2011, 08:48:31 AM »
As hunting season starts up I always run into problems picking which rifle I want to use. I'm just curious if others have dedicated guns like their deer, elk, or bear rifle. Do you just have one rifle that you use for everything? Maybe there are different setups for each hunting scenario (long range, brush, tree stand). Or were all of your guns lost in a "boating accident" and now you spear hunt? ;)

It all depends on what and were I'm hunting.. I have 3 go to rifles, a .30-06 that was handed down from my dad, as well as his .240 Weatherby, and when all else fails there is my .30/30 mod.94...

i have 3 1917 30-06 enfield sporters, i only use one though. not like i will see any shootable animals anyhow, but its nice taking it for long walks through the woods in complete silence except the natural music god is playing in the hills playing along to the beat of my heart..

Also have a nicely sported argentine 7.65 that would be sweet for bear & deer hunts. not sighted in though.
TANNERITE needed for target practice on opening day of each hunting season.

As versatile a round as there is for all purpose hunting.

As for the initial question... is that not like your wife asking how many women you slept with before she came along???   :yike:  Not to be answered, at least not in public???   :chuckle: :chuckle:

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

I sold all mine, too much violence in this country and if we get rid of our guns then the gun violence will go away too.

i only own 3 rifles and each have a purpose. rem 700 in 22-250 is for coyotes and other varmint sized game, a ruger hawkeye in 243 is my main rifle for everything other than elk. and a rem 700 in 270 that is patiently awaiting for my toy fund to fill up so i can build it into a lighter weight larger game rifle

when i got renters insurance, the customer service lady helping me set it up asked me how my my firearms and optics were worth.

I replied "in germany or washington??"

and she replied "oh boy, this is going to take a minute isnt it?"
"Right now, I am thinking that If my grandmother was here, she would be lecturing me about how there are poor people in Africa, that would just love to have a Ruger, I would just say "Great, granny, lets just ship all the Rugers to Africa!"

Loving life in the Great Northwest one day at a time.

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.
