It's hard to beat a Leupold VX-II in the 3-9x40. They go for right around $300. Or, look at Cabelas, they have the Bushnell 4200 in the same thing for $199 right now. It's a discontinued model that a year ago was selling for $300, and even at that price it was a good scope for the money. Those are the two I'd be looking at.

The leupy I have now is an older one that came on the gun when I bought and and surprisingly it does get knocked off pretty easy. I love Leupold so I'll check into the newer ones, I kinda figured they would get a good review. I like the one I have just want to update a little bit. The 2-300 dollar range is perfect, I was looking 3-9 or 10, maybe 12 if I wanted to push it but don't think its really all that necessary. So you guys nailed it, thanks again. Send it in to Leupy and they will fix it or replace it at no cost to you.

so u buy a chitty scope cause your not a good shot?? and a spendy one cause u can shoot? I buy a good scope so it doesnt FAIL! nothing worse than having a crappy scope that gets knocked of from recoil or a fall
I wouldn't put a Bushnell,Nikon, redfield or others of similar fashion on any rifle i own... Leupold is where I would start. Yeah the high end can fail, but the point is it rarely does as oppose to cheap glass..that's where u pay for what you get
