Will i be alone in GMU 204 next week?
« on: September 13, 2011, 01:19:21 PM »
I will be in 204 next week 16th-?? filling my deer tag, just wonder if i will have the place all to myself or will there be any HW members around?? I hunt in the eastern side of the unit...

To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

I'm off the hook. No need to climb those mountains this year.  :)

I will be over there the 16-19th hopefully to fill my second deer tag :IBCOOL:, hunting partner has a multi-season tag and may tag along to see what is around with his bow :archery_smiley:. Just been waiting for the weather and temps to get better. Good luck .

I'll be there for the muzzy opener.  Been hunting there for many years, always do pretty well.  Pulled a huge bodied 4x4 out of there a couple years ago.  Good luck.  Try to leave me a fat one....: )

Saw close to 21 elk which is nuts to see them up in my area

I got my second deer tag filled in just a few minutes. I did leave the cabin but not too far. The drag back to the cabin was about 200 yards, and just slightly up hill. Now I just hope I can do it again for my daughter next month.

ldjbuff, congrats to you and your Dad, sorry he missed the buck, there are some good ones around. Where did you see the elk at? We saw some west of Chesaw several years ago, and I believe I have found elk poop but it may have been moose as there have been quite a few sightings over there lately.

The elk were near Wauconda, 3 huge bulls too. I thought I was following some huge deer :chuckle:

Very good weather, had blast, I will post pics and story later on, no pics of the elk though, battery was dead in my camera
