Congratulations! About 12 years ago my buddy and I shot elk about half an hour apart, a couple miles apart. We busted our butts getting them out, just the two of us. All day adventure. We didn't have the heat to deal with, so I know you guys had your work cut out for you. Way to get it done! Those are good looking spikes!

I am very thankful for my elk this year...its only me second ever. I really count on that meat (either from a deer elk or bear). The big reward was watching my brother in law get his first elk ever. He hunted west side last year, hiked in 10 miles and camped out. Didnt see anything and the rain kept them pinned.

I was able to convince him and my brother to quite chasing big bulls and come hang with us over in eastern wa (good camping buddys, lots of food, fun chasin animals, etc...who needs antlers when you can have meat!)....bro in law was hunting for three days before he ever got to see an elk (basically, the one he shot). I was happy for him and his family.

Good job and nice looking bulls!   What you just mentioned above is what it's all about!  Thanks for sharing the story and pics.

Went back to help out camp....no one else was successful. Had a few misses, but no one connected. I did go back and look for my arrow...found it in like 5 min. I wasnt concerned with it when I first shot, cause it was so hot out and I was sure it broke in half (I watched the elk fall on it and roll down hill).

Pretty cool to find arrows...the head is still in perfect shape.

Good job on some good eats. I used to hunt up there, I love the country but not the crowds during rifle season.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
