I don't know any kids that hunt but I would be willing to take one out if they want to go. I could meet them at the Samish unit. I have an excellent 4 year old pudelpointer and new 4 month old that could use the work. PM me if interested.

Gonna be at Scatter Creek with my dad and son on Sunday. We may take both of the dogs, but usually do not hunt them together. Might be a chance to run a second dog for someone else. I always look forward to helping kids out especially when it comes to hunting.

Wish I'd logged on earlier.  Took my boy and his friend out today.  It was the friends first time bird hunting.

We went two places.  1 near town and 1 out on the river.  It was windy here so the birds were holding tight.   We got a him a pheasant and a couple of shots at some quail.  Saw more pheasant that I expected.

Kinda sad I recieved no responce's to my request.   Guess I know where not to ask if the need ever arises again....   which trust me, I'll do everything under my power to not  be in that situation again.

Wayne,

You have to admit- it was kinda short notice, don't you think? You posted your request, what, 4 days before the youth hunt?

i would've loved to help,... but i would be setting up the kids for a disapointment,... this is gonna be my first "real" hunting season, and i'm still learning,..  that why i posted up this thread,.. i wanted to help someone,.. but all i could off is my dog's services,... i can't offer an actual hunt, or any places really,..  maybe next year or later this season i will have enough experience to offer people some real help.  honestly i got so much help on every part of hunting from members on this site that i am just looking forward to help others where i can,
