scope repairs?
« on: June 26, 2008, 08:50:37 PM »
is there anyone who repairs crosshairs?

i was just cleaning up my scope and took the lenses off the clean the inside of them, idk why they were as dirty as they were.

but i accidently jammed my finger down into the scope when i picked it up off my lap and totaly destroyed my crosshairs  :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:

...so can i get those fixed? replaced?

or do i actually HAVE to buy a new scope...i wanted a new one anyway.

you could probably send it back to the manufacturers, but is it worth it?

buy a new scope.

New scope time. You lost all of the purging gas when you removed the lens,so it will fog up on you.

Depends on the mfgr, I know that Leupold will fix it up new again for free or at least you pay shipping there and they pay for the return, not too sure on the other brands, Nikon has a pretty good warranty as well, I really like Nikon's new stuff, it is quality without robbing the bank  :twocents:

Leu and Vortex will... no questions asked.  I've actually had decent (not fast) service from Bushnell.  Not sure if they'd fix it or not.  Regardless of brand.... send it in w/ a sob story.  It's worthless to you as it is.  Worst case they say they won't fix it and you're out 5 bucks shippping.

smdave called into bushnell about a 15 year old bushnell that had the reticle break on it and i can remember for sure but they said send it in and they would either fix it or give us a discount on a new one.
