Not a bad night tonight.... ;)
« on: June 26, 2008, 10:31:07 PM »
I saw several things tonight and wasnt sure where to put it...but I think the bear forum will be the best...SO.......

In my quest to get the hell outta the house (and maybe find a yote) I decided to head up to Snoqualmie tonight.

Driving up one of my haunts, I find this fella on a power line road. He was kind enough to hang out for a few.

Then I found this fresh pile....

I get all set up to do some calls...and four dudes on mountain bikes go blazing by on the trail...they had no idea a guy with a AR 15 was 70 yards or so from them....wonder how many times that has happened to me... ;)

So I pack up and head to another spot, with less peeps.....I get there...round a corner and behold!

This nice little fellow was kind enough to let me spend about 5 minutes with em...

Wasnt scared at all of me...I followed for a bit and then eventually, off into into the woods.

THERE's More...Part two is on the way....

I get this video of the little guy....

<<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="
hl=en"></param><embed src="
hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
More to come...Youtube takes forever to upload videos too.... ;(

Then I get off to where I want to call from. I call for about an hour and a half...nothing..so I decide to target abit with the AR...which I do...I use all my ammo..except my .45

Walking back to the rig (which is about 1/2 mile or so) I glass the truck and nothing...then this guy shows up...

I have video of him too, but it is uploading..will take a bit....he stays at my rig for like 30 minutes. He seemed to be a very large bear, judging by the relation of him and my car...he looked big to me...Im no expert...but I wasnt going to push my luck and get too close...especially with just my .45 and an empty AR 15, so I just watch him eat and take photos, video...

Will post the videos once they get up.

2 bears and 1 elk...that is a good night to me. ;)

More to come...video wise

This is just as I was coming back from target shooting with my AR 15...Let it be known...no litter was left.

hl=en"></param><embed src="
hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

And this is the last video of the guy...He ended up disappearing into the woods after a bit. thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it. Sorry for the shaky camera...its just crappy video from my little digital cam...looks better as a raw file on my comp.

Hey I am just messin with ya, sorry I am tired but not enough to climb into bed just yet.

Love the photos and hope someday I can get some video footage of a bear, I'm trying but it just hasn't happened yet.

Nice work !!  :drool:

Saylean,

Those are some awesome photos!!!!!!  I am trying to get the video, but my connection is slow.
This is near Snoqualmie?  I live in North Bend,  not asking you to give up your honey hole, but looking for a good place to bear hunt come the Aug 1.  Is this off Rattlesnake? or Tiger? Or Snoqulamie Pass?  Iz got to know!!!! :drool:

Some friends of mine were riding the iron horse earlier today preparing for the Mountain to Sound this weekend and saw two bears coming down.  Maybe they were yours as well.  Either way awesome  :drool:  and not a bad night at all!!!

Keep practicing that calling, I may have use for you in Colville!
Would like to go back where you were at and shoot some bear and elk!
I have not been in the woods since Turkey, and have not seen much but a few deer, a bear, and a couple yotes over there.  Need to get out and explore around home more!

Even more so, to see 2 choco bears...which I did. I was wondering if they were related.  ;)

I shot two chocos in two years less than 100 yrds apart here on the westside.  In the past 4 years it seems more are being shot around here.
