Archery Elk turns into Bear Down!
« on: September 21, 2011, 08:43:03 PM »
Got a pretty nice bear last week. Beautiful hide, already has the under-fur coming in nice. Two years ago I missed a bear out elk hunting, sent an arrow right over his back. But this situation was a bit different. We were out on our Archery Elk hunt and seen this guy from the truck. He was moving and behind a bunch of blowdown so I didn't think that I could get in close enough with my bow. So grabbed the rifle that was buried in the back and took off after him. I don't know how to judge the weight or size very well but his front pads were 5 inches across.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Great pics of both the bear and camp!  Congrats!
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
