Sitka sizing question
« on: September 21, 2011, 07:53:05 AM »
I got a pair of 90% pants and the sizing surprised me a little. The Large Tall's are almost too big for me. All along I was planning on the XL Talls..I was going to grab a shirt or something and was a little curious about the sizes. I was thinking XL but the pants have me a little wondering about what size to buy. I tried to go to Wholesale Sports and try some on but they had virtually nothing in stock.
I'm 6'4" and about 220# for reference. Most of the shirts I wear are XL or Large Tall....Sitka doesn't offer Tall sizes in their shirts.
Anybody have any suggestions?

Just a frame of reference, I'm 5'4 and about 145#.  I am wearing the M 90% jacket and pant.  The small is too tight for shooting.

A little bigger is better than too small.

Also, go to Sportsman Warehouse.  Last time I was there, they have lots of the Sitka stuff.

I'm 6'1" 215-230 and usually wear 38W32L jeans.  The XL has fit me perfectly.  Only problem I have had with sizing is the wrist of the Stratus and 90 Jacket were a little too tight.

I'd never heard of a long being offered :dunno:  PM sent with my Sitka contact information.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

I'm 6'5.  All my height is from the waist up.  I emailed Sitka shortly after they came out and asked about the possibilty of offering shirts in talls.  Got the Thanks for contacting us.. blah blah blah, we're not looking at offering that at this time... blah blah blah.  Thanks.

I can't tuck a 2xl or 3xl shirt in.  The tail is too short.  My sleeve is about a 37 and I've found that the sleeves are short too.

I think that the Sitka pants sizing is horrendous.  I wear medium pants in everything - except Sitka and the large pants are too large while the mediums fit like I'm going clubbing in Seattle (or how I would imagine that to be; I never plan on trying it.)

However, the shirts and jackets seem to be much more true to size and easier to fit.  The newer pant with actual waist sizes also fit really well, like the Mountain Pants.  Much improved sizing over the older ones.

Ha, hope you like them Jackelope.  I was going to try on the mediums myself after the large was just too big.  I went to the wholesale sports in federal way and they were out of stock too.  I dont want to order any of it without trying it on first now.

Check out bigcamo.com They have tall sizes. I'm a 4x-tall and they've been able to outfit me no problem. Well, except for boots, but I'm a size 18, so that's understandable.
