wenas lake (umptanum unit)
« on: September 22, 2011, 05:04:09 PM »
Does anyone know if you can camp near wenas lake? Getting ready to head over for muzzy season and wenas looks central to where I would like to hunt. wasn't able to check that out when I was there scouting this summer :bash: If not, anyone have any good ideas where to camp?  :dunno:

As far as I know, no camping allowed at the lake any longer but I could be wrong.

Casade camp would be a good choice. Centrally located and you can access most the area you want to hunt and only a couple of miles past the lake.

Follow past Wenas Lake to the end of the road and take Aoutobond (SP) Road untill after you cross the creek, once you cross the creek, you are there. Just pick a spot to camp.

There is wenas lake resort, a place where you can park a motorhome and then drive to your hunting area. My dad and I did it one year when the rest of the group could not make it up.  They have showers  and meat poles inside.  That was about five years ago, they might be out of business now!!!!!!

I agree with gasman.. Cascade park is your best bet. The road in and out is a ruff though due to the flooding earlier this year

could camp at the feeing station at hardy canyon but you'll be staying with 30 other motor homes
