Selkirk Moose
« on: September 22, 2011, 05:50:47 PM »
I am departing for my moose hunting adventure in 8 days and will be gone for two weeks.  Upon my return I will be sure to complete a full hunting documentary on this website for all you hunting enthusiasts and will provide pics of the monster.  PM me if anyone is going to hunt in the area around the same time and I will be more than willing to help out with packing or attempting to find a moose.  Thanks for all the support I have recieved from fellow members and any additional information or stories from prior moose hunts in the area would be greatly appreciated!
I've spent most of my life hunting and fishing....the rest has been wasted

Do you know where your bull is or have you been over much?  We hunted up there last year and saw moose every where.  Dont get trigger happy if you have time, we seen 14 moose opening day and 6 the second and that was one hour into day 2.  we saw a couple of very small bulls shot on day one.  Good luck

46" wide

Here's a pic of my '09 Selkirk bull.  Just keep your chin up and keep hunting until you find the one you want, there are plenty of good bulls up there. 45" wide and triple brows each side.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Should be a really, really fun hunt.  Smoke a good one as I had that tag some years ago and took one that was 57 plus some change wide.

Moose fired Sunday night.   The rut is on.   I co-ersed a bull pushing 60 inches to within 40 yards Monday night.  The jackwagon wouldn't take ONE MORE STEP for a photo op.   You could have got him with your rifle, but not with a bow. He was one BIG shiras.   He was hung up at 40 yards.    I am going to try again tomorrow to get him.  I don't know if he'll respond again or not.  He's a smart SOB.

Big windstorm Last night 50 mph winds with 70mph gusts forcasted, and it deluged rain.  The weather warning was for Pend Oreille and Bonner county.  Made for piss poor moose calling.
