« on: June 28, 2008, 09:30:44 PM »
Today I did a full day of scouting for the upcoming season. saw all the things I like to eat...deer,grouse,rabbits and BEAR?????? :o Ive been hunting the same area for the past 3 seasons...and though Ive seen a ton of bear sign...never once had I seen one of them suckers in this area....well today as Im glassing a huge clearcut for deer I see two small bucks running across the clearcut and running right after them are not 1 but two huge black bears!!!!!!! man that was cool seeing those guys today....as it stands now I have all the tags for deer, elk, turkey, waterfowl, and small game...looks like im gonna be pickin up a bear tag! Sorry about such a long story, its just I was pretty pumped to see two of those big guys walking around. Heres my question. (im new to bear hunting) what advice do you have for me for hunting bears in western WA? thanks guys

look through all the posts in the bear hunting forum here and you'll find a lifetime's supply of info.

sounds like a pretty exciting time you had today.

No pics? Shame on you... :chuckle:

As for advice. I would say keep scouting and try to learn their patterns. Keep watching for sign and try to find what they are currently feeding on and then find what they will be feeding on next.
