My UNIT IS ON FIRE!
« on: September 11, 2011, 09:52:50 PM »
Well my hunting unit anyway. Two weeks from opening day of Muzzie season and the area I hunt in Goldendale is on fire. Fire started on Boxcanyon Rd. and that is where my buddies property is at. Have yet to find out if his home is still there. My hunt may be in jeopardy but right now at least I am praying my buddy has not lost everything.

He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

All the evacuees are able to go back to there homes or what is left. Contianment is at 50% and they have mopped all the way along the fireline into 50 feet. So there is not an active fire line that is burning out of control. The fire hasn't grow in the past 3 days. If you look at the map on the link I provided you should be able to locate where your land is at. I am just glad they have under control finally.

Nope. We used to have land up around Bowman Creek. We have property around Rock Creek. I am from there and have a few friends that had to leave luckly everyone that I have heard from still has a standing home. My prayers goes out to those who weren't so lucky.

By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Update! My buddies place was spared. So was the wheat field that we hunt near every year that produces big tasty bucks every year. We had planned on muzzie this year but he does not want us up there that early after the fire but modern firearm is a go and we are very excited! Man I am getting the itch!

First your unit is on fire, and now you have the itch?  Lol sorry man I couldn't let that one go, glad to hear your hunt isn't ruined, good luck this year! :chuckle:
When you see the third, thin the herd.
Right now I'm somewhere picking up sheds.
